Atom’s Connections

A private social space for your family and friends that runs in your own web browser.

Share photos, videos, links, and thoughts in a feed. Chat one-to-one or in small groups. Like, comment, and repost. It looks and feels like the social apps you know, with one big difference: there is no company in the middle. Everything you post stays on your own computer, encrypted, and travels directly to the people you’ve connected with. Nobody else can see it, collect it, or sell it.

Download and use

  1. Download Atoms-Connections.zip.
  2. Unzip it anywhere you like, for example in your Documents folder. Keep the files together.
  3. Double-click Start Atom's Connections. The app opens in your normal web browser.

The first time, Windows may show a blue “Windows protected your PC” box. That appears for any program downloaded from the internet. Click More info, then Run anyway. It only happens once.

  4. Type your name, pick a photo if you like, and tap Create my space.

Send them the same zip file, or this page. Everyone needs the same version to connect.

Privacy, in one paragraph

Your identity is a cryptographic key made on your device. Everything stored on your computer is encrypted and locked to your Windows account. Every message between you and a friend is end-to-end encrypted, and media is checked for tampering on arrival. A small public “introduction” service helps two browsers find each other on the internet; it only ever sees two anonymous addresses, never names or content.
